Treeclimbing Projects

Blätterdach / Techo de hojas

A treeclimbing documentary

Background

We believe conservation can only succeed when it is rooted in social justice. That’s why we focus on supporting solutions that emerge locally, rather than imposing external ideas.

Beyond tree-climbing and related activities, we’re continuously expanding our network to create future-oriented projects that connect people, culture, science and nature.

We are committed to supporting environmental and social projects in Ecuador through long-term collaborations with local communities and organizations. Ecuador is a country of immense ecological and cultural diversity. Across its regions, communities are actively defending their territories against exploiting industries, despite ongoing challenges and environmental conflicts. Ecuador was the first country to theoretically grant constitutional rights to nature, but it is still a big challenge to enforce it.

Our team combines experience in fields such as natural sciences, tree climbing, and land-use planning. One of our members, Florian, has lived between Ecuador and Germany for many years, which strengthens our connection to the region and helps us foster meaningful exchange between different perspectives and realities.

We are planning a treeclimbing encounter at "La Floreana" in 2026 in collaboration with Galo Chiriboga from REFA
